What is the problem with the Petkit Pura Max? ›

The Petkit Pura Max Litter Box would do a great job of controlling odor if it didn't leak. The issue is with the litter liner in the bottom of the litter box. It does not seal entirely and if your cat urinates anywhere but the middle, it's going to leak. This creates a smelly mess under the barrel of the machine.

The device has a lithium battery. If you do not need to use the device for an extended period of time, you must turn the device off yourself. At the same time, hold down the bowl reset button together with the manual food dispenser button for 5 seconds.

It's very important to note that if a cat is repeatedly going to their litter tray, straining but not passing any urine, that's a true emergency. The cat's bladder may be blocked and it requires immediate attention. If an owner observes this behaviour then the cat needs to be taken to the vet straight away.
