We can't wait to welcome you home during your Move-In! Below are some important reminders and considerations for the big day.

Prepare for Weather
Bring a water bottle, wear cool comfortable clothes and shoes, and pack a tarp or covering for your belongings in case of rain during the unloading process. In the event of severe weather, updates will be posted on the and on social @UFHousing.
Directions to Your Hall
Move-in maps will be your guide on how to navigate campus.
Some roads may be closed for ongoing campus improvement. Please use the provided maps below to find the best route to the unloading zone of your new home. Staff will be available to direct you to your area office to check-in as well as your nearest elevator or staircase.
Print Your Unloading Pass
Locate your hall in the chart below and download your corresponding unloading pass. Please be sure to print this and have it pre-filled out when you arrive. This pass will be placed on the dash of your vehicle while you unload.

Elevator Types
Passenger elevators will be available for use and will allow for you to load and travel with your items up to your assigned floor. These elevators are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please try to consolidate items and limit your elevator trips to allow for as many new residents as possible to utilize the elevators during move-in.
Residence halls outfitted with freight elevators do not allow for passengers and must be operated by one of our staff members. Each resident is allowed ONE load up the elevator. Please consolidate your heaviest items and wait in line for the elevator. The elevator is available on a first-come, first-serve basis between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Staff members will not be available after the last scheduled trip at 4:30 p.m. to run the elevator. You will need to use the staircases to move the rest of your belongings, so try to consolidate your items or use bags/boxes/suitcases that you can easily carry up the stairs to your floor.
UF's historic residence halls do not have elevators. Within these halls all belongings will need to be moved via staircases. You may want to consolidate your items or use bags/boxes/suitcases that you can easily carry up the stairs to your floor. Some staff members and volunteers may be available to help you during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. but count on moving most of your items yourself.
Arriving to Campus
Check-in & Unloading
As you arrive, have your mobile GATORONE ready. You will need it to collect your keys during the check-in process at your area office. We encourage your move-in team to start unloading your vehicle while you check in. Carts will be available to check out with a government-issued ID or you are welcome to bring your own to speed up the process.
Please note, unloading zones are available for a limited time, and are intended for you to unload your vehicles quickly before moving to a long-term parking location. Vehicles in the unloading zones must not be left unattended at any time.
The On-Campus Experience
Resident Assistants
Resident Assistants (RAs) are undergraduate students who live in the residence halls and are friends, mentors, and resources. They will guide your experience as a Gator. If you have a question, need advice, are wondering how to submit an iService Request, or want to chat with someone who knows the ropes at UF and is excited about helping you achieve your goals, your RA is here for you! Be on the lookout for information regarding your first-floor meeting, and upcoming hall events.
Great Gator Welcome
The Division of Student Life welcomes you to the University of Florida with our annual Great Gator Welcome events! These events happen at the beginning of each semester and are always a blast. Grab your roommate or some new friends from your hall and catch a welcome event happening near you.
