Hey guys, I hope everyone is having a good holiday season. Good to be back.

Like the title states... how do you like your new ranger? I'm considering taking the (rather large) plunge and buying one. I've sufficiently justified the purchase both to the fiance and myself.. id just like to know what the truck is like to live with long term.

I'm sure there's a million reviews out there from various websites/blogs/vlogs/clogs.. whatever.. i just value the opinions of you guys more I guess lol. All those people generally seem like morons or tryhards.

Thanks in advance.

You mention fiance... I really wanted a new Ranger until I was introduced to the world of rear facing car seats.

If future kids are on your radar and you are kinda tall... You might check into that.

Kids likely wouldn't be on the radar until the trucks paid off, if something were to happen though.. the fiance IS planning on purchasing herself a Subaru soon.. so we'd be covered.

I’m pretty sure the 2019+ Rangers are consider 6G.

Anyway, what specific trim and cab configuration are you looking at for us to nit pick?

For my Supercrew STX FX4, the nit picks I have off the top of my head is the soft dampening of the shocks (kinda floaty/bouncy), possibly a weak sway bar but that might be the shocks, and poor visibility out the back because of the tall bed sides.

In cabin storage is a bit wanting but I like having a bunch or road side equipment stuff just in case.

For now, that is about it. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the buy. It was a bit of a gamble buying a first year truck but the problems and recalls have a been minimal considering.

Opinions seem to vary on that? Weird. Some folks say 2019 is 4th and some say 5th gen. and you're saying 6th How do you like your 5g? (7)

We were reluctant about buying our 2019 Ford Ranger, having driven Tacoma's since 1997... over 200,000 trouble free miles. But I can report 12,600 trouble free miles on our Ranger. We bought it in Sep 2019.

At this point I would certainly recommend buying a 5th generation Ranger!

One thing to note: We bought an XL to avoid as much of the technology as possible. Less is more.

I really thought from the thread title that this was a phone thread. lol
Im looking to upgrade but will most likely be in the 2010/2011 model year. Current generation trucks (whatever that number is) are just too much right now for me, but if I was in the market Id get a base model supercab. I dont need a crew cab & would rather have the bed space, Im not big on tech, If I could find a mint ‘77 F150 Id consider it, even though I dont really need a fullsize.

A mint '77 F150 would probably cost more than a '19/'20 Ranger.

For what I've seen with restored old vehicles like that. You are not wrong. Depending on the model, they demand top dollar.

Does Verizon support that? Or would I need Sprint or T Mobile?
